WHAT WE DO

PROJECTS ARE DONE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH MINISTRIES, NON-PROFITS AND CHURCHES

mission & vision

By partnering with non-profits and churches we can maximize our impact as we rebuild broken walls and broken lives.

  • Renovation, improvements and additions
  • New construction assistance
  • All phases of construction
  • Life safety and ADA improvements
  • Code violation upgrades
  • Design and planning assistance
  • Disaster rebuilding partnering in surrounding states

Please note: we generally are no longer equipped to take on single family home renovations or roof projects unless referred to us by a partner non-profit organization that will provide additional resources.

After years of participating in serving projects throughout the Chicago area and the greater Midwest, a group of like-minded friends felt a need to start an organization where anyone can get involved and make a difference in the lives around them. Our goal was and is to partner with churches and non-profits in our local community, as well as throughout the Midwest, who are helping people in need. Whether it’s improving the bricks and mortar structure of the ministry itself or assisting them in their work with clients/recipients, Operation Nehemiah’s goal is to come alongside existing organizations for building and rebuilding projects. In addition, within our work, we believe that everyone has been blessed with different gifts and talents; yet we are called to join together with our resources to maximize our efforts.

Our organization’s name comes from the book of Nehemiah in the Bible. Nehemiah led the rebuilding of the walls surrounding Jerusalem, which had fallen into disrepair while God’s people, the Israelites, were in captivity. Nehemiah is an example of patience, faithfulness, perseverance and encouragement, as he involves all of God’s people, young and old, strong and weak, in the work of rebuilding the wall…together!

For it says in verse 4:6, “For we rebuilt the wall…because the people had a mind to work.”

Operation Nehemiah wants to carry on that legacy of coming together, young and old, strong and weak, skilled and unskilled, to work on behalf of God to rebuild broken walls and broken lives. We have a mind to work. Want to join us?
